Owen's Big Pumpkin Farm!

The summer has now come and gone, and we are already well into Fall around here, although Texas would never let you realize it has actually been Autumn for a month, with the above-80 temperatures on a near-daily basis. But as is the case year after year, we can't let that stop us from having our own Fall fun, and so we took the kids to the pumpkin patch last weekend. It was fun to have Auden's first trip to the pumpkin patch; that's one of the things I love the most about the baby stage - all the "firsts" and rights of passage. Luckily, the day was breezy, so we were only melting when it died down and we were standing in the direct sunlight. All in all it was a beautiful day, and while she was fussy at times, and did not seem to like sitting directly on the ground, I think Auden enjoyed taking it all in, or as Dresden kept saying, "I'm enjoying nature, Mama." Me too, son. Me too!

We drove out to Celina, TX near McKinney, to the Big Pumpkin Farm.
It was actually a really cute little pumpkin patch; perfect for little kids.

First order of business, of course, was feeding the longhorns and the goats!

This goat was like "ain't nobody got time for that!" and took matters into its own...um...hands? mouth?

Is she sweet?

Or is she a little bit sassy?! LOL.

The worst thing for taking pictures was the fact that there was not a cloud in the sky and the sun was blazing, so it was hard for the kiddos to look at the camera for very long. Not that Auden would have anyway!

Making his selection

"Um...can we not be on the ground...there's like...dirt here."

Well at least somebody was having fun!

Annnd...Auden is done!

Me and the kiddos

Oh look! Its the camera man himself!!!

There's that sassy baby again! Ha!

These pumpkins were right outside the haybale maze, which Dresden had us do four or five times. That was the highlight for him, I think!

A quaint little chapel on the property. We went on the hayride and got to see it up close; it was really cute.

Our little model is growing up!

Auden "enjoying nature" on the hayride. She was so mellow the whole time; it was really cute.

Trying for a couple more photo-ops

Enthralled with the pumpkin!

While I definitely wish it could have been at least 15 degrees cooler, it was still a beautiful, fun day, and the perfect celebration of Fall. I look forward to this time every single year, and it was so great to have Auden with us this time! Looking forward to the start of all the holiday and seasonal festivities to come, and this was just the first of many!

Love,

Cassie
